The Basilica of Santa Croce - Florence Italy

The Basilica of Santa Croce (The Holy Cross) is one of my favorite places to see in Florence. It doesn't get the notoriety that other Florentine landmarks receive but this is a must see when you are there.
Located in the Piazza di Santa Croce this beautiful church is famous for it's architecture but also for the tombs of the famous men and women it houses. Michelangelo, Dante, Galileo, Machiavelli, Donatello, and many others have been laid to rest here.
Construction on this beautiful church began around 1294. It consists of many buildings and courtyards that are all magnificent. For the price of admission you are able to enter all of the various cloisters, buildings, and gardens of Santa Croce. Beautiful sculptures and art fill the basilica in every room. With so much to see, be sure to give yourself plenty of time to take it all in.
At the bottom of this post is a link to my Santa Croce video posted on my Dan Lorti youtube channel.

This video is from my Dan Lorti youtube channel. It gives you a little glimpse of the interior of this beautiful church.
