The little hilltop town of Radda, located in the heart of  the Chianti region of Tuscany, is a great spot to visit. Many nearby wineries, towns, and beautiful Tuscan country to experience are all within a short distance. On many occasions I have stayed in Radda and from there venture out for day trips all around Tuscany. 

When in Chianti, I stay at the Hotel Radda, a quaint boutique hotel that looks like an old Tuscan farmhouse but with all of the modern amenities and service of a 4 star hotel. It is absolutely one of my favorite hotels that I have stayed in anywhere! 

This region of Italy is a must see for those that want to get away from the bigger Italian cities and take in the magic of Tuscany. Rent a car to give yourself the freedom to be spontaneous and drive and explore the region. There are many lesser known towns nearby, each with their own unique character and charm. Don't be afraid to just pull in and discover what they have to offer.
