Pyramids of Teotihuacan - Mexico City

Pyramids of Teotihuacan - Mexico City
Teotihuacan is the site of an ancient pre-Mexican civilization that built a city consisting of two large pyramids and an avenue of other stone structures right around 100BC.
To reach Teotihuacan I hired a taxi and for about $40 US my driver made the hour long drive and waited for me to hike for a few hours before he took me back to Mexico City.
The largest of the two pyramids is "The Pyramid of the Sun" and here I'm posing in front of this beautiful man made work as I prepare to make the trek up to the top.

The Pyramid of the Sun is a popular visit for tourists and locals and you can walk up the steps to the top for a spectacular view of the surrounding city and landscape. The hike up is challenging so bring along some water so when you reach the top you can relax and take your time enjoying the sights.

The Pyramid of the Moon is second pyramid build on the site and is magnificent. The stairs do not take you to the top but do go high enough on the pyramid to allow for a beautiful view of the Avenue of the Dead.

The stairs can be challenging for some as they are steep and irregular. It's worth the effort though so take your time and hike up.
