La Fontana delle Tartarughe, The Turtle Fountain, is one of my favorite fountains in Rome. Located in the Sant'Angelo District of Rome it resides just beside the Jewish Ghetto neighborhood. Seek this beautiful treasure out as it can be easily missed. It is truly a treat. Here yours' truly in a picture moment.

The Turtle Fountain resides in Piazza Mattei and was completed in the late Italian Renaissance around 1588. The original design included four dolphins at the top of the fountain but because of poor water pressure they were removed and later the turtles were added.

This small piazza is a popular tourist spot and locals as well stop to enjoy the tranquility that this beautiful fountain provides.
