Every trip to St John I really look forward to eating at some of my favorite restaurants as well as finding new places. This trip I discovered Vista Mare, an Italian inspired trattoria located on top of Wharfside Village in Cruz Bay. 

The views are fantastic and I had a great seat at the bar overlooking the bay.

The staff at Vista Mare is super and I came up early to get a seat before the happy hour ended and the dinner crowd showed up.

I started with the antipasti and a great glass of red from Montepulciano. I felt like I had been transported to Tuscany!

This was indeed as good as it looks! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it!

Just as the sun begins to lower the lights come on and the place begins to fill up.

Dinner: The Citrus Marinated Kale Salad. 

Kale, squid, capers, and pesto all mixed with a light citrus dressing. This salad was fantastic. In fact I enjoyed it so much I stopped in another evening and ordered the exact same thing.
