Salt Pond - St John USVI

Salt Pond is one of my favorite snorkel spots. When the weather is rough on the island this bay usually remains calm and on a normal day Salt Pond is like a lake. The beach is never crowded and the occasional donkey will wander along the waters edge.

To get to Salt Pond you will need to drive to the east end, park, then hike down a 1/4 mile path. The trail is not that rough but wear something more than just flip flops.

You can see that on this day I had the beach almost all to myself. From shore sea turtles could be seen popping their heads up for air and to look around. It was such a great day.
