The ruins of ancient Romans palaces as well as beautiful gardens and a museum can all be viewed on the Palatine Hill. I recommend you catch a guided tour in order to get the history behind the beautiful ruins. You can get a guided tour that includes the Colloseum and Palatine Hill just outside the Colloseum entrance. Two tours for the price of one.
