Caneel Bay Resort - St John USVI
The Caneel Bay Resort - Caneel Bay, St John USVI
The Caneel Bay Resort occupys 170 acres and has 7 beaches adjacent to the property. Set in paradise, Caneel boasts world class service, accomodations, and amenities for its guests. The resort bars, restaurants, and beaches are open to the public and I highly recommend taking the time to enjoy this beautiful setting. The food and drinks are very pricey but hey, you're on vacation right?
Looking out over Caneel Bay
Sugar mill ruins are all over the Caneel property and are often used as the backdrop for photos, weddings and private dining. The beautiful gardens of Caneel feature many varieties or tropical plants and flowers so give yourself some time to wander around while you visit.
This little two man sail boat was out in the bay the day I stopped in. It started to pour down buckets of rain but that didn't stop these guys from getting their sailing in.
The Caneel beach is open to the public but resort amenities such as kayaks, sail boats, and the beach chairs are reserved for guests of Caneel only. There is great snorkleing in Caneel Bay and you can even see the sea turtles from shore. Notice how calm the water is. Just like swiiming in your bath tub.

Caneel Bay Monday Night Seafood Buffet
On Monday nights Caneel Bay hosts an all you can eat lobster seafood buffet. I've been more than one trip and it was well worth the price each time. Dozens of lobsters are always being grilled to satisfy the hungry guests along with prime rib, other seafood, salads, and breads.
Did I mention it is all you can eat???
Be sure to save room for dessert.
Torch light, live steel drum caribbean music, and the sounds of the bay round off a perfect evening at Caneel.
The Caneel Bay is beautiful and is only a quick 5 minutes from downtown Cruz Bay.
