 Zucchini Flowers - The flowers are eatable and a real treat. I've never seen them sold this way in the states.

 Artichokes were in season thus in every market and on every restaurant menu.

The Italian open air markets are stocked with local fresh produce that is fresh and beautiful. This market was located near Via Adda in Rome.
