The Wild Donkeys of St John

Everytime we visit the island of St John in the US Virgin Islands we are suprised by something new. The tiny island is full of suprises both on land and under the sea.
Many early mornings we will bring a coffee and enjoy breakfast parked above the beautiful Trunk Bay. One morning in June this fellow stopped by and posed for a photo. We later discovered the price of his pose was a bite or two of our breakfast.
Wild donkeys roam the island freely and can be seen walking the beaches and along the road sides. It's not a good idea to feed the locals and if you leave your lunch on the beach while taking a snorkel it's a safe bet that it will disappear lunch bag and all!
